Learn Spanish Abroad

Why learn Spanish?

Join 500 million people worldwide in speaking Spanish. Spanish is an extremely popular and wide-spread language with more native speakers than any other language than Chinese. Spanish is one of six official languages of the United Nations and the third-most commonly spoken language in the world.

If you want to increase your travel options or learn the preferred language of 37 million Americans, you might want to learn Spanish. Studying Spanish abroad can open your horizons through cultural immersion in addition to language immersion. If you study Spanish abroad in Spain, you'll experience the relaxed Spanish lifestyle as well as a wealth of architecture and art.  In Costa Rica, you can learn to appreciate one of the most environmentally interesting areas of the world while you immerse yourself in local "Tico" culture.  When you learn Spanish abroad, you thus have a unique opportunity to experience a new culture as well as a new language.

It is much easier to learn Spanish than most people think. With its relatively simple grammar and the amount of vocabulary it shares with English and the Romance languages, Spanish will surprise you how straight forward it can be to learn when you study in a Spanish-speaking country. After all, you'll be able to practice any time you want!

Where can you study Spanish abroad?

When you learn Spanish abroad at an accredited school, you'll be in the best position possible to improve your Spanish: you'll receive classroom instruction and have an infinite number of chances to practice what you learn. EF Education First is happy to offer Spanish language courses in Spain and Costa Rica, which attract a diverse group of students from around the world. With so many chances to practice, you’ll be amazed how fast you learn when you study Spanish abroad!
